The Aikido Academy will be closed through Saturday, December 31.  The regular class schedule will resume on Monday, January 2, 2012.

Thanksgiving Holiday Notice

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no classes from Wednesday, November 23 through Saturday, November 26.

Classes on Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22 will be as follows:

Monday, Nov. 21:     Children: 6:00pm to 7:00pm
                              Adults (all ranks): 7:00pm to 8:15pm

Tuesday, Nov. 22:     Children: 5:15pm to 6:15pm
                              Adults (all ranks): 6:15pm to 7:30pm

Students, please arrange your schedules accordingly.  The regular class schedule will resume on Monday, November 28.  Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday with family and friends!

In observance of Labor Day, there will be no classes on Saturday, September 3 or Monday, September 5. The regular class schedule will resume on Tuesday, September 6.  Enjoy the holiday!

Memorial Day Holiday Reminder

In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no classes from Saturday, May 28 through Tuesday, May 31.  The regular class schedule will resume on Wednesday, June 1.  "Little Samurai" students may train on Thursday, June 2 and on Saturday, June 4 during the youth classes.

Students and parents, please arrange your schedules accordingly.  Enjoy the holiday and travel safely!

Sensei Wyndham Completes Wofford College Interim Course

We just successfully completed an intensive four week introductory course, Nihon Goshin Aikido: The Art of Self-Defense at the Spartanburg dojo. Twenty two Wofford College students enrolled for the January interim. Everyone enjoyed themselves and learned a great deal. We wish to thank the students for their enthusiasm, positive attitudes and consistent attendance and participation.

We also wish to thank Dr. Jim Neighbors for his efforts in assisting with the administration, organization and for his participation throughout the course. We truly appreciate our partnership with Wofford College for our second year on this exceedingly important subject. We look forward to our next interim course in 2012.

Classes to Resume Wednesday

The dojo will reopen for training Wednesday, January 12 (regularly scheduled classes).  See you on the mats this evening!

No Classes Monday or Tuesday Evening

Due to bad weather and possible hazardous driving conditions, all classes have been cancelled for Monday and Tuesday evening.  Please check the school's voice mail and/or this blog for updates.  Students are welcome to make up missed classes and testing will be rescheduled once regular classes resume.  "Little Samurai" students may attend during the youth class Thursday.  Keep warm and safe and enjoy the snow!
